Originally issued in 1990 on Sire Records - CD/cassette only (never been available on LP). Where the Pyramid Meets the Eye is a loving tribute record to Roky Erickson, a man who influenced so many of his peers and became a hero to a whole new generation of musicians. Conceived by Sire Records president and long time fan Bill Bentley, the record was created as a means to widen Roky’s audience and aid in the financial woes he experienced later in life. Reverence to Roky is paid in unique fashion on the compilation - from fellow Texans, ZZ Top’s searing version of “Reverberation (Doubt)”, the dancefloor psychedelia of Primal Scream’s cover of “Slip Inside This House” and re-worked gems from REM, Julian Cope, The Jesus and Mary Chain and so many others. 22 remastered tracks, never before released on vinyl! Double LP housed in gatefold sleeve. LP features 3 extra tracks formerly only available on the original cassette release.
