Description
George Harrison - blank white label radio station promo “All Things Must Pass” - Apple Records - 1970
This is the first and only blank label promotional copy we have seen of this three-record set. This early promo copy was received by WRKO radio disc jockey and program director Ken Rapoza in Boston in 1970.
It is the finished master of the album but the cardboard box and the record labels are BLANK. There is a typewritten label on the box spine with the artist and album name (see photo). We don’t know if Ken received it this way or added it himself. He did add his personal stamp with his name on the front and back covers of the box and the album sleeves.
Each side has S-1, S-2 etc. written in ink on the labels and the individual sleeves and the labels themselves have some notes written on them including cuts to play on the air and running time. There is no cue sheet.
Vinyl: Records 2 and 3 are in M- condition. Record 1 would grade as VG+ for a surface mark (see photo) but it does not cause persistent ticks or pops and certainly no skips.
Dead wax: etched in all three discs.
STCH-1-639-z1, z-2 etc.
Poster: The color poster of George Harrison is inside the box (see photos). It has no rips, tears, or seam splits.
Cover: Some staining is noted and can be seen in the photos and there is some corner damage to the box as well.
Provenance: After Ken’s death in a motorcycle accident in 1987 (see photo), the album was inherited by another Massachusetts disc jockey who filed it away- unplayed - until his death in 2024. The proceeds from the sale of the record goes to his widow to help pay for disposition of his estate.
