why am i doing this ? lord only knows ! these patches have been a massive part of my life, the Casino was a legend , a way of life , another world . I frequented this hallowed building during the later years, 79 - 81 as a spotty 17 yr old until i was 19.
remember queing outside M's in the early hours waiting for it to open ? remember Brian Rae's awful speakers blasting out Jimmy 'Soul' Clark ? remember looking over the main hall balcony on the oldies 5th anniv watching a sea of bodies dancing in unison to Will Collins' anything i can do? I certainly remember all of this and more, but we won't go there ;)
I remember the 5th oldies anniv very well, i also remember walking down parlaiment street in nottingham the sunday after with the patch sewn onto my levi jacket... having a huge smug look and grin because folks were commenting whilst waiting to get into the palais... this is what the Casino did, a wonderful place
the patches have been in this photo frame for 25 yrs , they've also been on Levi jackets and the odd Fred Perry many moons ago. the condition of them all is very good !
lets just emphasise - these patches were either bought by myself or given at the door on the anniversary nights
I have another frame of midlands clubs, notts palais, Howard mallet, EASC, clifton hall etc etc ready to list
