Milky Way Records (886M-0111) 1967 45 rpm single release from DEAN CARTER. Tracks are: JAILHOUSE ROCK / REBEL WOMAN.
This is one of those jaw-dropping two-siders that elude description. There are equal parts rockabilly and garage with touches of psychobilly and garage punk. DEAN CARTER is ARLIE NEAVILLE who has been providing his own style of rockabilly and pop rock from the 50's to 70's. Since then he's dedicated his life and music to the Lord. Without taking up too much space, do a quick search and you'll find his unique gonzo story that could only be Made In America.
VG- condition - the grading is highly weighted to the visual and though it still has a lot of lustre and pretty clean, it is not the highest quality press with some small inaudible micro-bumps. There is also a 3/8 inch mark on the REBEL side. It's a bit of a hybrid - too large to be a scratch and too small to be a scuff. You can feel it but fortunately does not affect play. Both sides play through to a higher grade that you could spin out in public with no problem. The sound files are from the offered 45 tracked at two grams. Labels have some moisture stains.
