Description
Up for sale is a scarce and desirable Urania mono LP featuring the renowned cellist Wilhelm Posegga. It also has another complete concerto (for piano and trumpet) and features cover art by the great illustrator Sam Norkin.

Cellist Wilhelm Posegga was, for a long time, the Berlin Philharmonic's cello soloist under Furtwangler. He died in France in 1962, as a result of an auto accident.
Illustrator Sam Norkin was born in Brooklyn and trained at the Metropolitan Art School and the Brooklyn Museum Art School and School of Fine and Industrial Art. He gained a reputation for theater related art, which was published (from 1940 to 1956) in the New York Herald Tribune and (from 1956 to 1982) in the New York Daily News. He was a master of caricature, in the mode of Al Hirschfeld.
