This beautiful LP from Connoiseur Society (CS 2022, US pressing, black/silver label, stereo) entitled “Dear Fritz” features violinist Wanda Wilkomirska's enchanting hommage to the great Fritz Kreisler in a collection of 13 original works by the legendary violinist, recorded here with the splendid pianist Antonio Barbosa in 1970.

This is exalted playing by any measure and all those who treasure the art of the violin will find much to savor here. The sound is absolutely first rate. For this listener, her rendition of Lotus Land is absolutely unsurpassed on record, imbued with a rapt exoticism that is quite entrancing.

Produced by E. Alan Silver and engineered by David B. Jones, this superlative album was recorded in 1973. The sound quality is truly outstanding.

There are superb liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket by Louis Biancolli, printed in English only. The lovely cover photo is uncredited.

CONDITION:

The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

The condition of the jacket is EXCELLENT. There is minor bumping/wear at corners, as well as mild shelfwear, but that is all. There are no seamsplits, owners' markings, bends, or other defects, and the whole remains solid, bright, and very striking in appearance – overall, an excellent collector's copy.

The condition of the LP is near-MINT and playback is superb – overall, a truly fine collector's copy.

This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
