Description
Frankly I was saving these for myself. These are historic recordings, not in the commonly understood performances from the 1930's or 40's sense, but because they marked the start of an historic collaboration between Enoch Light, founder of Command Records, a label decades ahead of the competition sonically AND William Steinberg and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. And at their first recording session, what did they record? THESE TWO ALBUMS! Then to market his superior records (superior because recorded on 35 mm magnetic film) Light insisted on superior packaging. Each LP was a fold out looking for 3x the liner notes when compared to single sleeve albums. Later releases of the same albums dispensed with the expense of the deluxe sleeves. Both LPs are sealed and never played. Both were sold as overstock at some point, but rather than being marked by a saw cut, a very discreet, almost invisible tiny drill hole was used. Anyway, these are collector's pieces and you can decide between saving them as an investment or treating your turntable and stereo to some divine music.
