Willie & Anthony – ‘Sugar Sugar Sugar’ / ‘It’s Never Too Late’ – Blue Candle 1509 (US)

 

Great sounds from the Albany, Georgia duo of Willie Hill and Anthony Fontaine. Wonderful sunshine dancer backed with a soulful ballad of the kind they’d almost stopped making even in 1975, when this came out. A pretty scarce release on T.K.’s immensely collectable Blue Candle subsidiary, don’t miss it!  

Condition: VG+ or thereabouts (the flip perhaps a notch below that grade); a couple of marks cause a couple of clicks, in particular on the ballad flip, but nothing to really worry about (please listen to the clips for reference). Clean labels save for faint traces of ring wear and a tiny, tiny tear on the flipside (please see scans).

Registered and insured shipping (with a tracking number) is an additional US $11.00 per parcel to cover a total value not exceeding $80.00. Shipping from Sweden is expensive – though the rest of the world is surely catching up – not least due to the fact that the weight increments are few and far apart, but it’s usually swift and safe.
