Description

Willie Dixon and Memphis Slim – Willie’s blues. UK first Press Prestige | Bluesville 1003

Description:

This 1959 session was cut at Rudy Van Gelder’s studio in Englewood new Jersey during a two hour stopover "between flights" Dale Wright giddily reports on the notes on the back sleeve of this incredible LP. Which certainly explains the relaxed, jam session feel of the recordings. The quality of Dixon's many originals and the freshness of pianist Memphis Slim's playing captures the essence of the blues with an ease which can only stem from the heart. The tracks "Go Easy" and "Move Me" hark back to the Chicago blues world Dixon shared with Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. This fantastic High Fidelity recording is a perfect addition to any blues lover's collection.
