Description

Bellaire B-45-107.  Night Life (2:49) / Rainy Day Blues (3:02).  These two sides were originally released on the tiny Rx label in 1960.  Title was changed to "Nite Life" and Willie's name was kind of hidden (vocals by Hugh Nelson) as he was under contract to "D" records at the time.  Willie on guitar and vocals; Paul Buskirk, guitar; Dean Reynolds, bass; Al Hagy, drums; Bob Whitford, piano; Herb Remington, steel; and Dick Shannon on Sax and Vibes.  Paul Buskirk released another version of "Nite Life"on his B & B label around the same time, featuring Marsha Carlile on vocals.  Neither of these versions sold at all and it wasn't until Ray Price covered "Night Life" three years later that it became a hit.  I have no idea how these two original sides turned up on the Bellaire label out of Bellaire Texas.  The original spelling of the title was restored, and Willie is listed as the singer for the first time, but he still doesn't get a writers credit.  United Artists also issued this pairing on 45 in 1963, about the time the Price version hit big.  Vinyl looks and plays VG+.  Labels clean, generic sleeve.  See scans for details.
