Description
Capitol Manufacturing Associate Reference Pressing for Capitol SIngle Release No. 1114. August 28, 1967.
X-PRO 4400. MINT condition - Still sealed in original plastic sleeve, which came inside a plain white sleeve.
Unusual 1967 Capitol reference pressing of the Brian Wilson & Mike Love "Gettin' Hungry"/"Devoted To You" 7" single--with both tracks appearing for the first and only time on a 12" LP with a Capitol white label!
Not found on any Beach Boys discography, this is a true rarity...and in unplayed, mint condition. These two tracks, oddly credited to "Brian Wilson & Mike Love" (yet taken off of Beach Boys' releases) were released in 1967 as a 7" on the Beach Boys' fledgling Brother Records label (catalog number 1002)...yet here they are on a Capitol 12", with a scarcely-seen Capitol LP white label to boot. The 12" also includes both sides of singles by Patrice Holloway, Bobby Sheen, and Jean Shepard, presumably all intended for release on the same day (August 28, 1967). These "manufacturing associate reference pressings" appear to have been earmarked for engineers at Capitol's pressing plants for technical use, rather than used as promotional items. No one I've talked to has ever seen one before.
The scan below is through the plastic sleeve that the record remains sealed in, thus the "waves" visible are simply the outer plastic sleeve and NOT a defect in the record.
SHIPPING: $4.00 in the USA/Canada; $10.00 elsewhere. PAYMENT: PayPal, Money Order, Cash.
