Wire 154 Harvest Records 1979 plus free 4-track 7" E.P.
Here for auction is a first edition of Wire's highly acclaimed and highly influential LP 154, complete with accompanying 4-track 7" E.P. The item was purchased new from Liverpool's Virgin Records by the present owner, then carefully stored in a clear polythene bag. It therefore remains in superb visual order, the original shrink wrap even retaining Harvest Records' point-of-sale sticker (see photo). The shrinkwrap has ensured that both the outer cover and the tough card inner lyric sheet are clean and fresh, except for a small unphotographable mark on the latter. The record itself has just been played all the way through and has also remained clean and generally free from noise, crackles, what have you. However, on Side Two, there is a pop on 'Blessed State' and several jumps on 'Indirect Inquiries', perhaps due to some extraneous materials undetected, but definitely there. The 'free' 7" EP has also been played and bears no jumps, but – despite having rarely been played across the decades – low noise and random crackles do occur throughout. Many thanks for looking.
