Description

I do not sell copies. I am an honest dealer with good feedback and describe my listings as accurately as possible. If you have any enquiries about my listings, please contact me. Some feedback suggests my gradings are too low but I prefer to be a little strict rather than exaggerate!

WISHBONE ASH - ARGUS. LP 1971. MCA INTERNATIONAL. FIRST PRESS, UNLAMINATED GATEFOLD SLEEVE. MDKS 8006 STEREO.  MATRIX SIDE A: VARIANT 1-7LNMG 256-1L.  SIDE B VARIANT 1-7LNMG-257-1L.  VINYL IS EX/ COVER IS VG+. MATTE SLEEVE WITH BLUE/BLACK "HEXAGON LABEL DESIGN.

SLEEVE:
The Unlaminated Gatefold sleeve is in EX condition for its age. There are no stuck on labels or stickers obviously removed and the sleeve is clean and shiny outside. The back is unlaminated but pretty clean with no major stains. There is very light ring-wear to the back but  is still in very good condition. No seam splits but very slight edge wear. The front of the sleeve has some slight creasing to the bottom right. Catalogue numbers, artists, tracklisting, credits etc. printed in yellow on the black background on the inside of the gatefold with 4 large pictures of the band. Solid spine with details.(1972 printed on inside of Gatefold)
INNER SLEEVE: Not believed to be the original. (see packing details below)

LABELS:
The credits, track listings, logosetc are in silver printing on blue, black and white backgrounds with the logo present. The labels are very clean and unworn. No spindle wear to speak of. No labels or other items stuck on and no writing added. Note that the disc is credited 1971 on the disc labels but the sleeve has 1972 printed inside. An excellent first press of the LP.

TEST PLAYING:
Visually, this looked really excellent for its age with no scratches or signs of wear. I think the Disc is EX rather than Mint or Near Mint. It is not warped.
I test played this twice on High End Naim amplifiers in series, Kef Foundry Reference speakers, and an Audio Concept deck. In my opinion it was excellent! There were no mis-tracks, warping, jumps, sticking, loud pops or cracks etc.. There was some slight surface noise detected between tracks but the vocals are very clear. Good separation of instruments and drums plus special effects. Sounds better than many modern LPs for its clarity and tight sounds. There are very few signs of cleaning and handling. Nothing  really detracted from the music or vocals and I thought the disc was excellent rather than just VG+ on playing. Note that the disc is credited 1971 on the disc labels but the sleeve has 1972 printed inside. An excellent first press of the LP.
I will be using a Professional wet solution / hoover type Deep Groove Cleaning machine before sending, and provide a new replacement card inner sleeve and anti-static inner sleeve for your choice. The sleeve will have a new plastic cover. I will pack well with reinforced cardboard and a cardboard record case for protection. Postage is by Signed for process.
