Description

An original 1st press of Argus on the UK MCA label from 1971. Matrix 2L/2L. Stampers 1BK/1BK. Label design is perfectly consistent with the 1st issue hexagon design exhibiting. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Also included is an original blue and white inner sleeve from the time with patent information. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen very light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one tiny deviation. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Even in slow-build or low-key moments this LP plays clean. One of the best renditions I've witnessed and it plays very sweet all the way through. Interference is largely absent. I couldn't detect more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. The one deviation was a couple of tiny ticks in one isolated moment. A very impressive rendition with little to find fault with.
Cover (Ex-)  A tremendously difficult cover to find in top level condition. But this example is preserved to a very high level - one that does not surface often. A lovely clean front and rear without the usual signs of ageing and only very slight handling wear. There's barely a crease on the front - which is unusual. The rear only exhibits a couple of minor foxing marks. The interior looks smart - just a light touch of handling wear. Edge wear really is very slight for this title and the openings are still sharpish. The spine is in superb condition with all text perfectly legible - with only very lightest signs of wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies totally flat. 
Inner (Vg+) Bit of ageing. No splits.
