Description
An original 1st issue of Argus on the UK MCA black and blue Hexagon label from 1972. Matrix 2L/2L. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover with an original Decca blue and white inner sleeve. Please note the inner sleeve is date coded to 8-72 [August 1972] three months after 1st release. So, this LP would have been available for purchase whilst the album was still charting in summer 1972. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Interference, thankfully, is very minor and infrequent. All we could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments. Great audio from these early copies...immersive to say the least!
Cover (Ex-) In great shape and has been cared for down the years. Nice clean front with only super-light handling - none of that heavy stuff that often appears on this title. The interior is in lovely condition with only very light handling evident. Edge wear is fairly light except for a one inch patch at the top of the rear panel - it has worn through. The spine is in much better condition than most examples - most of the text still legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
