Description

  • Beautiful 1958 original copy of the one of the extremely rare crown jewels in the RCA "Shaded Dog" Living Stereo LP series, "Witches Brew" (RCA LSC-2225, 1s/3s Indiana plant stampers). Alexander Gibson conducts the New Symphony Orchestra Of London.
  • This LP is on The Absolute Sound (TAS) super disc list for recordings of special merit and the prestigious Ars Antiqua guide to collectible classical records describes it as "scorching hot!".
  • The tracklist is: Overture To Tam O’Shanter (Arnold)/Gnomus from Pictures At An Exhibition (Moussorgsky)/A Night On Bare Mountain (Moussorgsky)/Dance Macabre (Saint-Saens)/Witches Ride from Hansel and Gretel (Humperdinck)/Mephisto Waltz (Liszt).
  • The glossy LP is visually near mint overall with just a few light superficial surface marks. There is one small mark at the leading edge of side 2 that is lightly audible for about 4 or 5 revolutions. Other than that the playback is great. The cover shows just some light wear. A small split at the top right corner (at the cover opening) has been protected/repaired with acid-free archival invisible tape. The original price tag (Macys) is on one back corner. I rate the cover as a strong VG+.
  • NO reserve on this wonderful and rare TAS list LP. I ship worldwide and will combine winning bids to save on postage (check out my other items!).
  • In the US, the winning bidder pays choice of media mail ($4.00) or priority shipping (based on ZIP code). Airmail shipping and handling to Canada is $8.00. All other locations outside the US are $15.00. Good luck!
