Description

Rare promotional musical from 1973 Talk of the Town Lyons Maid Ice Cream marketing presentation! Presented to attendees (approx 550) the full production musical tells the story of the ice cream company from its humble beginnings to the modern day (well, 1973). Guiseppe Bacarono IS Joe Baker, taking the role of ice cream seller through. the ages from Edwardian times to the 1970s. John Witty and Malcolm Mitchell provided narration and Julia Sutton (star of Antony Newley's 'latest musical') brings the house down with "The Tele-Op Blues". Music and lyrics were by Malcolm Mitchell and Dennis Norden, the show was directed by Gillian Lynne with additional material by Tom Goldsmith and Finlay McPherson. Vinyl has a few light marks but the sleeve is rather tatty, having been creased and a bit stained (see pics).
