Description

The Beatles, With The Beatles, Very Rare Stereo 1st pressing.
Stereo was still a novelty in 1963 so very few of these records were ever printed!
This is a unique chance to own a bit of history!
This record has the extremely rare ‘2nd version’ sleeve with double-spaced ‘Got  A’ on ‘You Really Got A Hold On Me’. E. J. Day noticed the mistake on the earlier sleeve (‘Gotta’) and rather than get it right straight away they made a few sleeves with this mistake. This is one of them!!
This album has all the expected features of a true 1st pressing:

  • E. J. Day flip back sleeve with large stereo
  • Lined ‘protect your records’ Emitex inner
  • YEX 110-2 & YEX 111-2 matrix numbers
With Black Labels featuring:
  • Yellow Parlophone logo with silver writing
  • “The Parlophone Co...” written on the outer edge
  • No “Sold in U.K” text under the Parlophone logo
  • “Recording first Published in 1963” written over two lines
  •  “jobete” credit for “Money” (Side 2 Track 7), and
  • “You really Gotta Hold on Me” (Side 1 Track 5) misprint.
The condition of the album is as follows:
Sleeve: Very Good
Considering it’s age the sleeve looks great!
The front still retains the original gloss sheen with only very minor bubbling to the laminate covering.
As expected with a record 58 years old there are some signs of storage wear but nothing major; no writing, tears or creases!
There is a slight fold to the bottom flip back that is extremely common with E. J. Day sleeves as they often came like this out of the factory!
Overall a great sleeve that has been well looked after.

Vinyl: Very Good +
The vinyl looks and sounds great.
Audibly the record is excellent - playback is crisp and clear.
Great channel separation that is more pronounced in the stereo pressing than the mono - vocals are very distinct!
There is remarkably little background noise in between tracks and during quiet sections.
Cautiously graded VG+ due to a few non-audible surface marks presumably picked up going in and out of sleeves.
The labels retain their original bright colours, have no writing and have minimal spindle ware.
It’s a real pleasure to listen to. A great copy to own.
Inner Sleeve: Very Good +
Original Emitex inner has no rips tears or creases. Rare to find one looking this neat.
Graded as such as shows some signs of discolouration.
Also included is an audiophile quality, anti-static inner sleeve that the record has been stored within.
The record is stored within a polythene outer sleeve and will be posted in a padded vinyl record mailer.
