PARLOGRAM AUCTIONS presents...

THE BEATLES - 'WITH THE BEATLES'

This superb and early UK STEREO pressing of their debut album dates from late-1963.

It is on the standard black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3045

The side 2 label has the revised 'Dominion. Belinda' publishing credit for the track 'Money'.

A single letter 'K' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the side 1 label.

Matrices: YEX 110-2 & YEX 111-2

Stamper codes: 3/GO & 1/A

Vinyl weight: 158g

Housed in the earliest variation of this iconic cover which is a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed stereo cover with the darker front panel image which was significantly lightened on all but the initial print run.

This cover also has the unusual feature of having the front the stereo indicator printed ON TOP of the laminate. Many of these cover types has the stereo indicator missing due to clumsy care or cleaning.

Furthermore, it has tracks 3 on the side 2 track listing spelt as 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me' which was later revised to 'You Really Got A Hold On Me'.

Complete with its original poly-lined 'Use Emitex...' inner-sleeve.

CONDITION

Labels: MINT -

A superb set showing a handful of light spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.

Visual: EXCELLENT +

Factory-fresh, deep-gloss playing surfaces which in strong daylight bear only a couple of harmless inner-sleeve removal marks on side 2 but little more to suggest that this disc has been out of its cover more than a dozen times in its life. Close examination directly beneath halogen light add little more than a few insignificant wispy paper hairlines and a sparkling rainbow shine. Both sides of this high-quality pressing lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

Audio: EXCELLENT +

Carefully and rarely played on good equipment only, the sound is warm and fully of presence throughout. Our careful play-check revealed a touch of regular vinyl background on 'Til There Was You' and a single soft click in the band between tracks 3 and 4 on side 1, but no other audible distraction or issue.

Cover: EXCELLENT +

This cover rarely appears in anything approaching this type of condition. Fabricated from cheap card stock, it went brittle and disintegrated quickly, However, this amazing example looks like it left the shops a few weeks ago, let alone 57 years. The iconic front panel is clean with slight toning to the white areas and just a single tiny 'thumbnail' wrinkle on Paul's face. There are one or two minor storage marks which don't detract form the beauty or rarity of this cover. All corners are in perfect shape with no bumps or bruising to any and both opening edges are sharp, clean & undamaged. The usually soiled rear panel is amazingly clean & totally unblemished with no wear or damage to any of the flipbacks. There is a tiny tick to the laminate of the upper seam but no stresses or splits to either  the spine is in perfect condition. You won't find a better example of this rarely seen cover variation.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT +

Fully intact with light handling wear only.
