1963 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING LP

On the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1206

Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but have 'Parlophone Co..' rims on both labels

The label publishing credit for 'Money' is 'Jobete Mus. NCB'

The side 2 label also misspells track 3 as 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me'.

An 'MKT' tax/price code is visible on the side 1 label.

Housed in a rare front laminated, tri-flipback 'Ernest J. Day' printed large mono logo cover which carries the incorrect 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me' spelling.

Complete with an original 'Use Emitex..' poly-lined inner-sleeve.

Matrix nos: XEX 447-1N & XEX 448-1N

Stampers: 3/AH & 2/P

Disc weight: 166g


Condition

Labels: VERY GOOD +

Numerous spindle marks but no other signficant wear.

Visual: VERY GOOD

Both sides of this early copy are clean but do bear a few light surface marks and an occasional light scratch, but certainly nothing deep or 'feelable'. Close inspection directly beneath my halogen desk lamp reveals numerous light hairlines consistent with frequent removal from the inner-sleeve but no further significant wear. Both sides of this extremely heavy copy lie 100% flat on the turntable with no signs of dishing or warping.

Play: VERY GOOD

This disc has received many careful plays but has clearly been cherished and plays without throughout with no major audible faults. Some playwear background is audible on 'Til There Was You' & 'Please Mr Postman' but there are no jumps, repeats or any other major faults throughout this huge sounding 1st pressing.

Cover

VERY GOOD -

This early example displays some general handling and storagewear but is overall strong and presentable. The front panel bears some shelfwear rubs to the corners and pin-holes to two corners but no wear or damage to the opening edges. The rear panel has some light handling wear but no writing or missing paper. All flipbacks and both seams are intact & the fully worded spine is undamaged.

VERY GOOD +

Some age-toning & minor storagewear but no major faults.
