Description
This is a 1st press of the Beatles second album With The Beatles. This is an unusual variant on the usual first press as although it has the XEX 448-1N stamps in the run out grooves it has the title corrected for ‘You Really Got A Hold On Me’ on both the sleeve and label (see pictures) and the corrected publishing credit for ‘Money’.
The disc is generally in good condition with many light surface marks (none of which affect play) and a small amount of background noise. The only prominent surface mark is on side one (see photo) that although it looks bad is barely audible. In fact I played this several times before noticing it was even there.
The sleeve is in pretty good shape for a 55 year old record with a few laminate creases to the front but no major damage. A previous owner has written the four Beatles names on the front sleeve (see picture) and ‘John Lennon’s Memory’s’ on the back of the sleeve. After thorough examination I can confirm that the sleeve doesn’t appear to contain any of Lennon’s memories other than those that appear in the lyrics. There is a small amount of tanning / staining as shown in the pictures. The sleeve was manufactured by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.
All in all a very strong playing copy of this fantastic record.
