Description

Wolfgang Dauner Quintet "The Oimels" LP. VERY RARE 1969 German release on MPS. Led by German keyboardist Wolfgang Dauner, and also featuring Siegfried Schwab (Embryo-guitar, sitar!), and the great Eberhard Weber (bass), this is a wonderfully great and crazy recording of late 1960's pop/jazz/psychedelia! Most of this sounds kinda like Ramsey Lewis on acid!, but let's not forget about the droning "Indian" motifs (aaahhh, sitar),  guitar freakouts, and occassional hippy lyrics(take your clothes off to feel the setting sun)!  Great performances, and a great document of a bygone era. Includes a wacky version of "A Day In The Life." Fabulous cover art. It's almost worth buying this for the inside band photo, with one guy in sport coat, shades, and LOVE BEADS. Jacket shows a little wear around edges and has a small square of sticker residue. LP is NEAR MINT.
