Description
Wonderful mono first pressing of Coltrane's brilliant and much-sought-after Blue Train, his only album for Blue Note. LP features heavyweight vinyl, deep groove labels, Plastylite "Ear," and RVG stamped and “9M” hand-written into dead wax. Cover and labels both feature original 47 W 63d St address without “Inc,” or trademark "R," indicating this is indeed a first pressing.

Vinyl: VG+/VG. Vinyl is glossy with beautiful sheen. There are multiple scratches, but these are cosmetic only and do not seriously affect play. There are no skips or clicks, but there are some crackles in some of the quieter sections (e.g. on "I'm Old Fashioned"). These are not obtrusive in any way thanks to stunning and gigantic RVG production. So I would rate this a VG for visual and VG+ for play. Labels are clean and clear with a bit of discoloration due to age. See photos for details.
Cover: VG+. Front cover retains original bright glossy laminate finish of iconic Coltrane photo. Back cover has some smudging and foxing, along with small stains on left and right sides, but everything is intact and solid. Spine has some flaking and wear; otherwise, seams are tight all around. LP will come in protective Mobile Fidelity archive-quality sleeve. Cover will come in thick vinyl protective sleeve.
