Good German import.
Performed by the New York Philharmonic conducted by Zubin Mehta with Gary Graffman.
The film (1979, dir. Woody Allen) starred Woody Allen, Diane Keaton and Meryl Streep.
Condition
VINYL: G+. Wonderfully clean on visual inspection. No obvious marks, scuffs or hairlines on either side. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is good throughout – and very good in places. Run-ins have static, crackling and surface noise. Mild static and clicking throughout first halves of each side and during quieter cues/fadeouts, but instrumentals sound good. Plays with no skipping, jumping or sticking.
OUTER SLEEVE/COVER: VG. Superb white paper sleeve with iconic film logo in black. A few scuffs to edges, mainly at top centre. Corner slightly dented but not worn. Some creases in from sides and faint foxing to paper on both sides, e.g. top right corner on front and top left of back. Slight disc outline as well.
INNER SLEEVE: NM. Poly-lined paper sleeve with centre hole. No obvious crinkling, folds, creasing, rips or stains. Clean and intact.

Review:
The soundtrack to Woody Allen's 1979 film Manhattan works supremely well with the film and is equally effective without the film.
Allen's choices of music from the Gershwin songbook enhance and illuminate the action on-screen. The stylish adaptations and arrangements create a wonderful set of orchestral transcriptions of some of Gershwin's best-known and least-known songs, and the inclusion of a full-length performance of Rhapsody in Blue only enhances the soundtrack's attractiveness.
Played with panache by the New York Philharmonic under a surprisingly relaxed Zubin Mehta, the song arrangements are bright and snappy, with a strong undercurrent of sentimentality, and pianist Gary Graffman's star turn in the Rhapsody is a knockout. Perhaps the single most affecting performance here is violinist Lewis Eley and pianist Dick Hyman's delicious chamber jazz version of Love Is Here to Stay.
Recorded in crisp, clear stereo, this disc deserves to be heard by anyone who loves the movie or the music.
