Description
An extremely rare ORIGINAL LP by the famous theatre organist RAYMOND (Guy) SHELLEY. This was the one and only recording he ever made. He died 2 years after making it at only 50 years of age.
Released in 1961 and deleted from the Columbia catalogue 2 years later, and to the best of my knowledge has never been re-issued in any other format. Due to the rarity value, and excellent condition this is reflected in the price.
The organ is one of the famous remaining Crawford designed Wurlitzer’s and still installed and played to this day in the Fox Theatre, Detroit. Very few recordings exist of this magnificent organ.
The jacket condition photo speaks for itself in respect of condition. I would happily place the audio quality as being very good, with no visible scratches – stylus runs or damage. Every LP is played on both sides before uploading description to E Bay, and in any event will be cleaned before dispatch. This was originally a Reviewers copy and as such bears a sticky to this effect.
