This offer is for Wuthering Heights: Opera In Four Acts by Bernard Herrmann featuring the Pro Arte Orchestra and the Elizabethan Singers. Includes 4 disks and a 60-page book (Libretto).

Wuthering Heights is the only opera written by Bernard Herrmann.
Bernard Herrmann has been nominated for an OSCAR for Best Musical Score 5 times and has won The OSCAR in 1941 for  the music score for The Devil and Daniel Webster.
He died in 1975, just after have composed the music score of Taxi Driver.
His other Film Score works include: North by Northwest, Psycho, Twisted Nerve (used again in Kill Bill Vol 1), The Birds, Cape Fear, Citizen Kane, Obsession, and many more.
Wuthering Heights, his only opera, was recorded by Herrmann in 1966.
Herrmann started work on the opera in April 1943 and finished it in June of 1951.
Wuthering Heights was recorded by Pye Records in 1966, under the direction of the composer, who conducted the Pro Arte Orchestra. The recording was made in May 1966.  The singers included Morag Beaton as Cathy (soprano), Donald Bell as Heathcliff (baritone), Joseph Ward (as Edgar Linton), Elizabeth Bainbridge (as Isabel Linton), John Kitchiner, Pamela Bowden, David Kelly, and Michael Rippon. The project was principally funded by the composer. The recording, on 4 LPs, received a very limited release (Pye CCL 30173). It was re-released in 1972 (Unicorn UNB 400) and received very positive critical attention.

Condition: Looks Very good. I have not tested the records, but I see no scratches and each disk looks clean to me. 
The box has a dent in the top right corner shown in photos and shows residue of where an old price sticker had been removed above the tree.
