Two strong titles in Dance Party come from the pen of Cugat himself, "La Yenka" and "Tabasco." Also there is a new, shorter version of "Zip-A-Dee Doo-Dah," a cover of "Hang On Sloopy," and the beautiful "Adios." The James Bond cover this time is "Thunderball," and "Yesterday" is here for Beatles fans. The nicest surprise, however, is "Soul Souce," a big hit for Cal Tjader and Shirley Scott in the mid-'60s. But back in the late 1940s, when Cugat was still introducing Latin music to American audiences, it was a hit for Dizzy Gillespie, who did so much to introduce Latin to jazz.
