Description

==========================================================================================================

In 25 years of collecting early records this is the ONLY example I have ever found of this extremely rare 1936 recording by Timely Recording Company, 235 Fifth Avenue, New York City.

Timely Recording Company was formed in New York City to produce Labor movement, Union movement and other politically radical songs.  The Company was believed to be affiliated with the Communist Party.

"UNITED FRONT" features a Leftist rally song against Fascism in Europe composed by a German Marxist, Hans Eisler, landing in America in 1933 after leaving Nazi Germany.

"SOUP SONG" is a labor movement song (to the tune of "My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean") that features lyrics implying that laborers only end up with a bowl of soup from a Soup Kitchen in spite of all of their hard labors.

Record is in shiny Excellent (E/E-) condition.

I have personally auditioned this record on a turntable with lightweight cartridge.  It plays nicely on both sides.  Expect sound quality typical of a small recording company.

This may be your ONLY CHANCE to own an extremely rare mid-1930's politically motivated recording produced in the USA!  Don't let it slip away.
