A pivotal moment in XTC’s evolution, Drums and Wires marked the band’s shift from angular punk to melodic, rhythm-driven art pop. Originally released in 1979 and reissued here on 200g vinyl, this edition was remastered by Jason Mitchell at LOUD Mastering with input from Andy Partridge and full band approval. The album introduced guitarist Dave Gregory and delivered breakout tracks like “Making Plans for Nigel” and “Ten Feet Tall,” blending sharp songwriting with Steve Lillywhite’s expansive production. This collector’s edition includes a bonus 7" single featuring the non-album track “Chain of Command” and the early version of “Limelight,” housed in a printed sleeve.
