Description
Here are TWO MEGA RARE 7" 45 RPM Extended Play records from my collection offered up for sale: These records rate 191 in the 1000 most valuable records in the world!!! These are two of three out of an original 1956 ELVIS PRESLEY 3 EP SET on RCA records SPD-23. This set of EP's was Free with purchase of a special Elvis portable Victor Phonograph record player back in 1956! The original cardboard cover is also missing. Each record has the original silver top "Nipper" label design! This EP set has a staggering book value of two to three thousand dollars! Gulp! According to Jeffrey Osborne's record guide, there was also a "How to play tour Elvis phonograph 45 thrown in but the Elvis discs make up most of the 3K value! Both of these Elvis Presley "Extended Play" (EP) pressings features four songs! Released in 1956 by RCA, each of these has the SPD-23 number and a secondary number for each.
Both of these discs rate VG with numerous light marks. A few marks are feelable but play through no problem. Both played with NO jumps or skips. Some pops here and there but both are still remarkably still enjoyable sounding records. Please remember VG is a low grade for a record! Please expect a used but playable record. This record set is ranked 191 out of the top 1000 most valuable records in the world according to record expert and author Jerry Osborne. Check out his book "The Money Records" (The 1000 Most Valuable Records) for verification of ranking.
First record SPD-23 (599-9124) songs include: (SIDE 2) I got a woman"(written by Ray Charles), "One sided love affair", (SIDE 5) "Don't be cruel"(written by Otis Blackwell)/ "I want you I need you I love you" Record has been well loved and only rates VG, is glossy and clean but has many light marks, has one small scuff near the edge - more moderate, has been PLAY TESTED. Both sides play very good from start to finish, with clear sound but has some light pops, overall a very enjoyable listen, no skips, no jumps on my system. There is a dimple on side 5 that does not effect play. (shown in photo). Labels have no signatures or writing (see all photos).
The second record SPD-23 (599-9125) features: (SIDE 3) "I'm gonna sit right down and cry" / and "I'll never let you go", (SIDE 4) Tutti Frutti (written by Little Richard) /"Trying to get to you" Record rates VG, has light marks, a few small heavier ones, has been PLAY TESTED. Both sides play very good from start to finish, has some light pops, overall a very enjoyable listen, no skips, no jumps on my system, no signatures or writing (see all photos). There is a barely visible small split in the dead wax (outer edge of record) on 9125 that does not appear to reach grooves and does not effect play. I tried to show this in the photo but it is very very small and nearly invisible.
