Description
Yama And The Karma Dusters: "Up From The Sewers" 1971, USA/Manhole Productions No. 1. Disc is M-, it looks unplayed! Silkscreened "rose" cover is M-, and it has the paste-on intact on the back side. You'll never get a chance at a more flawless example of this stunning protest folk rock LP from Chicago! Absolutely KILLER songwriting and AWESOME playing throughout, this LP is the sh*t! Intense political/anti-establishment ramblings from wiseguy Howard Berkman who is blessed with a really great sense of humour. For example, "Wouldn't It Be Funny" is about all the things a guy might worry about if he was really wasted and having an anxiety attack... in retrospect, it seems downright weird that nobody else took the time to write that song! His lyrics will have you cracking up whenever his band doesn't have your jaw dropping. The Karma Dusters really cook on the uptempo tracks, sounding like a cross between The Blues Project and Dylan's band circa 1966, augmented by a violin player. The sound is totally fab throughout, engineered by Barry Mraz, who worked on LPs by The Siegel-Schwall Band and Styx as well. You just know the FBI has a huge file on these punks. But do they have the album?
