Description
Here is the unsinkable MOLLY PICON (1898-1992) - the brightest star of the Yiddish theatre in New York. Her stage and film career lasted seven decades, always transcendent, and her immense popularity never flagged. I especially love her on "Car 54, Where Are You?" as the last, hilarious resident of a condemned building!
On this Pathé record, made in 1924, Molly sings two rousing and hilarious Yiddish songs: "YANKELE," about her Goyishe boyfriend; and "ICH HAB A KATARRH IN MEIN NOOZ," about the inconveniences of being ill. Five years later, 1929, this song, or at least its main idea, was mainstreamed as "I Got a Code in My Dose."
This original 1924 Yiddish Series "Needle Cut" Pathé Actuelle 03666 is in clean V++ condition. Some scratches and wear, but nothing to get annoyed at. Such a mishegoss!!
