All original albums by Yardbirds, the first-ever supergroup (which included at different times Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page on solo guitar) are coveted, valuable and highly collectable, especially in good condition, such as the copy of this classic Yardbirds album we are offering here. This is the ONLY anthology by the band issued during the band's lifetime. MONO pressings are about 3 zillion times harder to find than the lousy "fake" stereo pressings which flooded the market in the wake of the group's dissolution. And, mind you - MONO copies sound 3 zillion times better, too. This is an unbelievable compilation - the heart and soul of Yardbirds output is here; from the charting hits, to the selections from their Live album (Five Live Yardbirds) to even "Happenings 10 years time ago", the obscure final single, one of only two tracks ever recorded (the other being "Psycho Daisies") where Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page play the solo on the same track. (b)            The record is apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)             Mono pressing of this title is much rarer, and by far more preferable to its FAKE ("electronically rechannelled") stereo counterpart. We estimate that FAKE stereo copies of this album outnumber monos by a ratio of at least 10:1.

(d)            True Stereo copies of this album are NOT known to exist.

(e)             Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

-         Cover shows JUST A HINT of yellowing on the back side, apparently from aging.
