Yellow Magic Orchestra "Tighten Up" MONO b/w "Tighten Up" STEREO 7" PROMO TEST PRESSING small hole single (matrix #'s A&M - 02286 - A - MONO - S1 & A&M - 02286 - AS - S3) on A&M Records Santa Maria Plant labels. PLEASE NOTE: this is gonna be the only way you'll get the official record company released MONO version of this song, so please don't miss out!!! Make sure to listen to the clip below, first you'll hear the MONO side, followed by the STEREO side. You'll definitely notice the difference between the MONO and STEREO mixes following the point where the MC says "Japanese gentlemen, stand up please", you'll hear the in the first clip (MONO) that the synthesizer part is coming from straight in the center and on the second clip (STEREO) that the synthesizer is actually two seperate tracks, starting first in the left channel and then finishing in the right channel. Pretty COOL!!!!!

The vinyl on this 45 is in NEAR MINT condition! The labels state TEST PRESSING!!! Keep in mind that the record pressing process runs like this: the mix is laid done to a master tape; then a metal core acetate pressing is made to check the sound mix; then the test pressing is made for final mix approval by the band, producer and record label, as well as for urgent release to the handful of toppermost of radio airplay outlets; then promo copies are pressed and sent out to the full radio airplay list; and then the commercial copies are pressed and sent out to the stores. As you can imagine, test pressings have the purest, highest fidelity to the master tape, as so few plays of the master tape have occured and therefore the TEST PRESSINGS are SUPER RARE!!! This is a really RARE & COOL YMO/test pressing collectible, make sure you bid today!!!
