Description

Here's one of the ultar-rare 'Yerkes Dance Records' produced by band leader and contractor Harry Yerkes in 1923-24. He had bought the old Black Swan/Olympic studios and produced his own records featuring bands under his control, the resulting records being sold purely by mail order. Sales were negligible and the operation folded within 3 months. The records themselves are mythically rare, so we're pleased to offer this one - Yerkes Musical Bell Hops playing 'Dancin' Dan' and 'Sittin' In A Corner' on Yerkes Dance Record 3103-A/3102-A (all were cross-coupled to double the catalogue). If the Yerkes label isn't rare enough, this is extra rare inthat it is has blue labels - nearly all the others I've seen have had black labels! Both sides feature excellent solos and are hot throughout! Condition is E- light scuffs and odd scratches, E labels.
