Description

Another opportunity to buy one of my original albums from the 60s, 70s and 80s. In this case an absolute classic from YES, being one of the greatest progressive rock albums ever recorded and YES’s masterpiece “Close To The Edge”, a crowning achievement of their long, illustrious career. Produced by YES and Eddie Offord this is a UK first issue with an outside and inside gatefold textured cover with silver trim around title and band name. Includes a green printed inner sleeve with lyrics. No reference to “Made in UK” or “Manufactured in UK” on the labels.

An original 1972 UK first pressing on the Green/Orange label. This is an extremely rare album and one of the most sought after on the Atlantic label. Purchased and looked after by me and stored and played with care on quality equipment. As always I will provide an honest assessment to ensure buyer and seller are fully aware of what is on offer. Having play graded the album I have classified the vinyl as at least EX with a beautiful, clean sound when played at high volume. There are no scratches, pops or clicks and very low background sound on the run in grooves and in the gaps and the music throughout sounds superb. There is no visible spindle wear at all (please see photos for verification).


The album cover has no mark, folds or creases and there is minimal wear on the still legible spine. The inner, green lyrics insert has no damage or splits for such delicate paper.


Overall, this is a great opportunity for a collector to own an original, first pressing of one of the most important progressive rock albums ever recorded of fifty two years vintage.
