Description
- FIRST UK (1973) PRESSING - ... YES ...
- "YESSONGS" - with (rare to still be found) original 12" colour booklet !
This is a private sale - from my own, personal, collection - I am not a record dealer. Have kept this carefully stored - and carefully played - since purchasing way back then from my favourite (Bournemouth) record store.
'YESSONGS' comes as a Double Gatefold Album Sleeve - matt colour exterior and interior - containing three paper inner-sleeved,
12-inch vinyl (Green and orange 'Atlantic') discs - together with the original 12" Colour Booklet.
It plays well on my unforgiving Bang & Olufsen setup - no clicking and no scratches ruining the ambience.
Some spitting and crackling of course as the stylus runs in and runs out - but still above average sound quality for its age.
Time to let it go - to someone, somewhere - who can now hear it - and make better use of it - than me.

GENERAL
It comes in its original matt cardboard double gate-fold album cover - containing the three 12" vinyl discs
within their original paper inner-sleeve. The original 12" Colour Booklet is gloss, with each double page spread dedicated to each member of the band. Note: This Booklet is rare to find - they were often separated from the Album.

TRACKLIST
Track listing is really far too extensive to list here ... please see my record label image !!
CONDITION - The 3 x Gatefold Sleeve Celebrating its 47th year of existence, this original (very chunky) sleeve exterior is in surprisingly good (Very Good Plus)
and excellent, clean, bright condition. Mild edge-wear where storage/usage has worn the vulnerable matt brown cover print - and this print colour
also shows some evidence of surface rubbing/abrasion from the disc inside on the front cover. All corners are bruised from use - but exterior is otherwise free of any other marks, gouges, writing, etc.
All 3 sleeve interiors are in PERFECT condition - and free from marks.
CONDITION - The Original Inner Sleeves Certainly showing their age - discoloured around all the edges (please see my images) - with only one small
'knife cut' on one sleeve edge, with evidence of its original masking tape repair..
The centre cut-out holes are undamaged and crisp.
The sleeves are, simply, all intact and in good order with just a few wrinkled corners.
CONDITION - The Vinyl
All three discs remain in good, shiny, clean and unscratched ("Very Good Plus (VG+)/Excellent") condition. (All surfaces have always been kept carefully cleaned and (as humanly possible) kept dust-free). Under scrutiny of my 'natural light' task lamp, there are no scratches - just light surface evidence of some inevitable wispy sleeve scuffs.
(Always have been carefully handled / well cared for.) **Note: There is one distinct 30mm linear surface scuff on Disc 3 / Side One ('Close to the Edge') - caused by vinyl catching on vinyl.
Whilst this is clearly visible, it registers no detrimental sound - even with maximum treble and minimum bass settings ... although you may catch a series of 'pops' during the very quiet opening passage of the track - lasting about 30 seconds. Have play-tested all sides and so can otherwise report a flaw-free performance: no skips, scratches or anything to spoil the enjoyment.
( Just the typical ambient hiss and crackle of the vinyl experience in the quietest passages and as the needle touches down ... ) Otherwise still a really FABULOUS, substantial, resonant sound.
CONDITION - The Record Labels In good condition (I've shown them all in my images) and only a merest hint of a very few spindle marks.
OVERALL CONDITION and 'SIGN OFF' ... I have described the content and condition of this item honestly and in good faith ... ... so that you can be sure that there'll be no nasty surprises!
I am not a record dealer, as I have said, but I have been strictly guided by the Discogs 'Goldmine Standard' grading, by my own visual inspection and by my own test-playing.
Simply and finally:
The VINYL - I would describe as, both visually and audibly as EXCELLENT
The DOUBLE GATEFOLD ALBUM COVER - I would describe as VERY GOOD PLUS / EXCELLENT
A RARE COLLECTORS' COPY GIVEN ITS GOOD, ABOVE AVERAGE, CONDITION.
