RARE YES Yessongs + Yesshows LIVE 5 HDCD Japanese Mini-LP (2002).
If you love live YES, this is the one to get! Here you'll get their classic 3CD Yessongs from 1973 along with the 2CD Yesshows, which was released in late 1980 after the band had fallen apart twice, once with original vocalist Jon Anderson and then again with his short-lived replacement, Trevor Horn.
My personal favorite is Yesshows, especially the live version of Parallels which, in my opinion, is WAY better than the rather lifeless album version. Actually, everything here is top notch including Gates of Delirium and Ritual, two masterful epics that alone make this whole thing worth it.
Yesshows was the first tour with drummer Alan White who had just replaced Bill Bruford with little time to prepare. Alan is solid throughout and Bruford is featured here on a great version of Perpetual Change w/drum solo.
These are the Japanese mini-lps that I purchased back in 2002. Yessongs shows some minor wear on the front cover and there is some minor damage to the front cover of Yesshows, as noted in my close-up photo. All discs are in excellent shape!
Speaking of the discs, these are HDCDs which means there's an extra audio layer with higher resolution sound. Make sure your CD player can decode HDCD to enjoy! However, these discs will still play on any player with normal resolution.
