Sun Ra-p; poss. John Gilmore-ts; poss. Victor Sproles-b; poss. Robert Barry- d; Yochannan-voc. Recorded in Chicago, around 1956 or 1957.  Yochannan was a nightclub performer in Chicago (not a street singer as previously reported). This single sounds like Louis Jordan numbers interpreted by Screamin' Jay Hawkins. Drummer has heavy rock hand. Tenor player does conventional R&B riffing, no solos.
The original release has an early Saturn look, like the surviving singles from 1956 through the early 1960s. Block lettering for the Saturn logo, red print on gold. John Gilmore recalls Yochannan hanging around Sun Ra rehearsals, while the band was playing at Budland but after Jazz by Sun Ra.

Hattie Randolph also recalls Yochannan, and remembers this single.

"Hot Skillet Momma" b/w "Muck Muck (Matt Matt)" attributed to Yochanan (The Space Age Vocalist) is one of the greatest rock'n'roll records I've ever heard. It makes Screamin' Jay Hawkins sound like Johnny Mathis. The world was not ready for Yochanan in 1957 when this disc was issued, and it's probably still not ready. Sun Ra however believed in Yochanan enough to issue another single two years later-- "I'm The One From The Sun" b/w "Message To Earthmen", not quite as wild but still a great record.   CONDITION: (VISUAL GRADING) VINYL VG++ LINES ON ONE LABEL SEEMS TO BE A PRINTING DEFECT, NOT STAINS   COMES WITH PLAIN STOCK SLEEVE IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT DELIVERY TIME: ITEMS SENT FROM MEXICO WILL TAKE  THREE TO FIVE WEEKS TO ARRIVE, SO PLEASE BE PATIENT.
