This is the Dress Me Slowly record from Aussie legends You Am I. It is an original black vinyl pressing of this record from 2001 - the very first You Am I album to be given a vinyl release - it is not one of the recent re-issues on orange vinyl.
I ordered a couple of these back in 2001 when word spread that the new You Am I record was getting a vinyl release, and that it would potentially be very limited. I've never found out exactly how many were pressed (even the band don't seem to know!) but the consensus is that there were around 400-500 copies produced. By now most of these are in the hands of collectors who will most likely take them to their grave. I happen to have this spare copy, so figured it was about time to pass it on to a new owner.
I'll say it again: this is the original 2001 pressing, with 12 tracks, on black vinyl and with the rear sleeve featuring liner notes not included on the re-issue. It's a piece of You Am I history!
Condition
A copy of this record in better condition you will not find. Overall it is in as good a nick it was on the day I brought it home, other than I opened the shrink wrap back then and gave it a spin. I don't think it has been played since then!
The vinyl is near mint, played once only. Labels are flawless. The sleeve is still in its original shrink wrap, though it has been slit open. There is a sticker on the shrink. The cardboard sleeve is in near mint condition, unmarked in any way. Spine, edges and corners are intact. Hold it at just the right angle and there is the very slightest of creases on the extreme lower right corner of the sleeve. I'm really searching for anything wrong with this record! Many copies of Dress Me Slowly were shrink-wrapped too tight and the sleeves ended up warped, but not in this case. Overall a solid NM all the way.
