YUJI TAKAHASHI & MASAHIKO SATO: 1974 (DENON – JAPAN 1983) LP ****** condition (record/cover): MINT / EXCELLENT (w/obi – light stains on back cover) ****** second pressing from 1983 of this excellent half acoustic half electronic album recorded in 1974 by pianists and composers takahashi and sato. here is a couple of descriptions lifted from the web: “an amazing study in improvisation…. one acoustic side: samarkand ….and one electronic side: taklamakan – lob nor… and what a study!!! the duo is beaming of curiousness and energy! takahashi ( of cage fame…) and sato is really taking it far away! recorded in 1974. the a – side on two grand steinways and the b- side on prepared piano, ems, aks, mini moog, mini korg and rhodes….. totally killing music!!!” / “an all keyboard freakout, side one is acoustic and sounds like dueling cecil taylors, pretty intense...side two, the "electric" side, sounds like some sort of intercepted radio transmission between two extraterrestrial races in a distant galaxy.”
