Julian (Yulian) Sitkovetsky (7 November 1925 – 23 February 1958) was a Russian-Ukrainian violinist. In 1945 Julian Sitkovetsky won the All Soviet Union Young Performers Competition of piano, cello and violin (Sviatoslav Richter and Mstislav Rostropovich were the winners in piano and cello). In 1947, he shared First Prize at the Prague Festival with Leonid Kogan and Igor Besrodny. He married pianist Bella Davidovich in 1950 and their son Dmitry Sitkovetsky (who became an eminent violinist and conductor) was born four years later. In 1952, he shared Second prize in the Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition with Wanda Wilkomirska (first prize was Igor Oistrakh). In 1955 he won Second Prize at the Queen Elizabeth Music Competition. (Of which Yehudi Menuhin said: "...David Oistrakh and I were on the jury...he should have had First Prize..."). Julian Sitkovetsky never toured much, as he was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1956. He died in Moscow in 1958 at age 32. Joseph Magil, critic (himself a violinist and violist) of the American Record Guide, said of Sitkovetsky : "...David Oistrakh said that, had he lived, Sitkovetsky would have eclipsed him and Kogan…. He had a broad, firm, focused tone in all registers; flawless intonation; a rapid, even trill; a swift, perfectly controlled staccato; strong, immaculate harmonics; an even, clear sautille...".


Kirill Petrovich Kondrashin (Russian: ?????? ???????? ?????????; 6 March [O.S. 21 February] 1914 – 7 March 1981) was a Famous Russian conductor. In the first International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1958, he was the conductor for Van Cliburn, who won the first prize. After the competition he toured the United States with Cliburn, being the first Russian conductor to visit America since the Cold War began. They performed and recorded the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.3 and Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.1, which they had played in the competition. The recordings easily sold millions of copies in America. And their Tchaikovsky recording for RCA Victor was the first classical LP to go platinum. Later, in 1972, a live performance of Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 2 reunited Cliburn and Kondrashin with the Moscow Philharmonic in Moscow; RCA Victor eventually released the performance, along with a studio recording of Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, on CD. He was also the artistic director of the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra from 1960 to 1975. During this period he premiered Shostakovich's Symphony No.4 in December 1961 and No.13 the following year. He gave several performances in Europe and America with other famous Russian musicians like Rostropovich, Oistrakh, and Sviatoslav Richter.

A few words about negative feedback we received recently. This was from Yang Pei Yi (Taiwan) - remember this name he is hiding under 4 ebay id's as he told us! After he got his parcel, he started to complain even for about like-new record, He explained that his LP should be in PERFECT condition, but he bought vintage 60 y.o. record and did not read description to the end. He demanded refund and his words were "no compromise", we found this suspicious as he did neither reply us nor accept our alternative. So he started a paypal claim and got HUGE refund, and kept record. He did not ask paypal for full refund because he should have returned item, what he has never did. After he left us negative In the end we lost merchandise, money, and got negative. So here is how ebay protects their sellers and it is a shame on ebay!

These early pre-melodia records are highly in demand among collectors and  audiophiles. As it is TRUE VINTAGE ANALOGUE! The price will only increase!!! Please note this is 60+ years old record and it is in EXCELLENT shape.  This is really unique chance to get this highly collectors item in such stunning condition!
