Description
I am selling my Yamaha DS 55. It still looks very nice and clean and works perfect!
It is a very special FM synthesizer wich offers unique possibilities in the world of synthesizers. It works a 100 times easier than the DX7 and its brethern!, wich is an absolute + ofcours. The sounds are slightly thicker and warmer than the other FM synthesizers i encountered.. And still it is ideal for that special FM sound! Well, if you search a nice FM synth - this is one of the Best - and you almost never see it for sale.
The DS 55 is 8 Note Polyphonic and 8 part Multitimbral!
You have very special MIDI options; You can spread the polyphony amongst 8 sounds and trigger them on different(or the same..) channels. This is called Dynamic Midi Allocation and it is not common on synthesizers.
You have a single sound mode, a split sound mode and a dual sound mode!,Which you can all alter to your wantings. A unique built-in Delay - which offers short and long triggers. Its decay can be altered by a little analog trimmer on the back of the DS 55.
You have an independent 5-parameter envelope generator for each operator(= DCO)
And, this i nice i think - this synthesizer can work on a battery : ) Portable makes it so much nicer!
