YES "Close To The Edge" UK 1ST PRESS TEXTURED A1/B1
Incredibly rare original UK First pressing with A1/B1 Matrix numbers.
Matt faux-leather textured gatefold sleeve with original green inner lyric sleeve.

Note that I aim to describe the record as accurately as possible and according to the record collector grading system.

Outer Sleeve
Nicely presented textured matt gate-fold sleeve with faux-leather effect. The faces are clean and the wear to the faces, seams, opening and spine is low considering the record is 38 years old. There are no inscriptions and only very minor corner bumping to two corners. VERY GOOD+.

Inner Sleeve
This is the original green inner sleeve which is generally in great condition for the age. The square edged opening is nice and sharp, the seams are intact with the exception of a 2cm split to the left hand edge. I have graded as VERY GOOD.

Label
Being a first press, the label has the darker orange and green colour scheme without the Warner logo seen on later pressings. In very clean condition, and still a nice tight fit on the spindle. EXCELLENT

Vinyl
Audio:
As would be expected from a first pressing, the sound has great depth with a well developed soundstage and for me was a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience. The record plays generally very well without any skips, jumps or obtrusive pops. Background noise is generally on the low side although on side 1 there are two occasions in the quiet sections where minor repetitive clicks can be heard. I could not detect any faults on side 2. In summary I grade the audio as VERY GOOD+.

Visual:
There is a spindle scuff on side 1 that seems not to affect playback. Side 2 appears to be in excellent condition with no defects apparent even under bright halogen lighting. Matrix numbers K50012-A1/B1. Graded as VERY GOOD.

The record will be well packed and mailed in a purpose made quality LP record mailer . I will pack the record in a separate inner sleeve to avoid the risk of damage to the sleeve due to “kniving” in transit.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM

MINT (M) THE RECORD ITSELF IS IN BRAND NEW CONDITION WITH NO SURFACE MARKS OR DETERIORATION IN SOUND QUALITY. THE COVER AND ANY EXTRA ITEMS SUCH AS THE LYRIC SHEET, BOOKLET OR POSTER ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION. RECORDS ADVERTISED AS SEALED OR UNPLAYED SHOULD BE MINT.

EXCELLENT (EX) THE RECORD SHOWS SOME SIGNS OF HAVING BEEN PLAYED, BUT THERE IS VERY LITTLE LESSENING IN SOUND QUALITY. THE COVER AND PACKAGING MIGHT HAVE SLIGHT WEAR AND/OR CREASING.

VERY GOOD (VG) THE RECORD HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN PLAYED MANY TIMES, BUT DISPLAYS NO MAJOR DETERIORATION IN SOUND QUALITY, DESPITE NOTICEABLE SURFACE MARKS AND THE OCCASIONAL LIGHT SCRATCH. NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ON THE COVER OR EXTRA ITEMS, WITHOUT ANY MAJOR DEFECTS, IS ACCEPTABLE.

GOOD (G) THE RECORD HAS BEEN PLAYED SO MUCH THAT THE SOUND QUALITY HAS NOTICEABLY DETERIORATED, PERHAPS WITH SOME DISTORTION AND MILD SCRATCHES. THE COVER AND CONTENTS SUFFER FROM FOLDING, SCUFFING OF EDGES, SPINE SPLITS, DISCOLOURATION, ETC.

THE USE OF PLUS (+) OR MINUS (-) ALLOWS FOR ITEMS THAT FALL BETWEEN THE ABOVE GRADES.
