Yes will present their new album in 2021. The Quest is the band's first album in seven years, the follow-up to 2014's Heaven And Earth, and the first album to be released on the Inside Out Music label.
Produced by Steve Howe, the progressive and art rockers show once again why they are still among the most important bands in their genre.
Steve Howe, Alan White, Geoff Downes, Jon Davison and Billy Sherwood composed eleven new songs for »The Quest« and recorded them in studios around the world. Sessions took place in the UK with Howe, Downes and Davison, while White and Sherwood met in the US in the studio. Jay Schellen, who belongs to the Yes Live band, contributed additional percussion parts.
"It's just an honor to have the opportunity to bring the band members together in the development of a well-crafted series of songs that capture the true potential of the band," said Howe. "Most of the music was written in late 2019, the rest in 2020. We commissioned several orchestrations to complement and enhance the overall sound of these fresh new recordings in the hope that our emphasis on melody, coupled with some extended instrumental solo breaks, will keep the momentum for our listeners.”
Featuring artwork by longtime collaborator Roger Dean, the album is available as a limited deluxe Glow in the Dark box set featuring 2LP, 2CD and Blu-ray, a slipcase mat, an enamel pin, a 36-page, bound booklet, a poster and a certificate of authenticity, all packaged in a sturdy lift-off box.
