Yesterday And Today - 1966 - 2nd State Butcher Scranton First Pressing - Mono
Matrix: Side 1) T 1-2553-F7 #2 IAM Side 2) T 2-2553-G2 #3 IAM IAM is stamped within a triangle outline The #2 and #3 are etched, the rest is stamped
Cover: VG There is a stain at the top front and a smaller one at the rear. The spine text is legible but there is flaking. Bottom splitting is seen, but the seam remains attached. There is general shelf rubbing to the front and ring wear with no impression at the back. There is no writing or creasing, and the paste-over is firmly in place. There is a 'bubbling' in the past-over itself which is a flaw in its application. This has zero impact on the integrity of the jacket. The cover remains in respectable, solid condition, and in hand, presents very well.
Peeling Note: Covers numbered 2 & 3 on the rear are from the Scranton plant. Paste-over slicks there were applied using water-based glue making them easiest to peel. L.A. covers numbered 4,5 & 6 used alcohol-based glue. Peeling these proves to be much more difficult.
Vinyl: VG++ This is an extremely clean and still glossy record. Upon closer inspection, there are several surface lines and some scuffing. None of which are deep.
Labels: NM The labels are perfect. Spindle marks are nearly invisible. No writing.
Inner: EX+ Original Capitol inner.
Playback: VG++/ EX The audio is terrific. The record plays from start to end with no skips. While there is surface noise throughout, it does not 'destroy' the listening experience. I am an audiophile and as such am very critical. I was able to fully enjoy this 57-year-old record completely. The mono recording ultimately overwhelms the vinyl's flaws. It sounds great!
Shipping: This piece will ship with the vinyl in its own cardboard sleeve, apart from the jacket and inner. All will be stacked and placed in a poly-liner, which will then be securely boxed w/ twin corrugated cardboard liners.
