Your Funeral
"I Want To Be You" b/w "Final Abyss" 7" w/ Picture Sleeve
This is a new, unplayed copy of Your Funeral's first and only release, a 7" single on Local Anesthetic, issued in 1982.Local Anesthetic was both a record label and a fanzine -- and both were put out by Wax Trax Rec's in Denver (not to be confused with the Wax Trax in Chicago).
Your Funeral was three women: Jeri Rossi on guitar and vocals, Karen Sheridan on bass and vocals & Cleo Tilde on drums. The record was recorded at Geoff Landers' Packing House Studio with Jeff Froyd (Young Weasels) & Bob Drake engineering and the mix done by Geoff Landers.
Jeri Rossi worked at Wax Trax at the time (as did Jeff Froyd). Jeri and I edited and did most of the writing for the Local Anesthetic fanzine (though on the writing we also had a lot of help from another Wax Trax employee, DA Wilkins).
Included with this auction is a copy of the Local Anesthetic fanzine with 2 Jeri Rossi related ad's: 1: a Mercury Cafe ad for a show by The Birthday Party that lists Your Funeral as the opening band; 2: an ad for a 'Battle Royale - Frantix Vs. Die Migrains with opening bands Bum Kon & White Trash.'
Die Migrains was a side project band of Jeri's. The Frantix, of course, were another Local Anesthetic band with 2 singles on the label -- the second of which was 'My Dad's A F*ckin' Alcoholic'. White Trash (pre-Fluid) also had a single on Local Anesthetic and Bum Kon had both a single (the immortal 'Drunken Sex Sucks') and a full-length LP. The 'Battle Royale' was a blast -- it was held at Geoff Landers' Packing House and Jello Biafra stopped by to MC the show.

--Here's a pic of Jello at the Battle Royale! Jeri is behind him but you can't really see her (that's Linda Durshang on bass) and there are a couple of members of the Frantix in the pic as well.
And here's a pic of Jeri Rossi and Suzzane Lewis (of Spray Pals)... Jeri's on the far right eating popcorn! I think I took this pic at the Dust Bowl the night of the Blood Ball when Jeri, Suzzane & I and couple of others performed as the Small Appliance Orchestra... but that's another story.
