Description

"Shonen Blue," by Yuji Oniki, self-released by Oniki in the late 80's. Superb album by Japanese-American artist Yuji Oniki, a collection of chiming folk-psych pop, with rain-soaked melodies, liquid guitars underpinned by soft, yearning vocals and warm Indian tabla - a wholly unique sound. Features contributions on guitar by Matthew Smith of Guided by Voices. An obscure gem of the late 80's U.S. underground. Very scarce. Vinyl in excellent condition. Record is a record station copy, so there are call letters in marker on the front cover and on one side of the record's label, as well as a thin pen mark and a sticker to the top left corner (quotes of praise from Alex Chilton and Scott Miller of Game Theory).
