So, after five decades of collecting vinyl and Hi-Fi, the time has finally come to downsize. Over the next few months, with great reluctance, I will be gradually selling off my treasured collection of records, cds and hi-fi equipment. It will take a while !!! For instant sale is an excellent condition copy of the very first UK STEREO pressing from 1968 of the 'WE'RE ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY' album by THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION. It is on the VERVE label and has the catalogue number SVLP 9199. A genuine UK first pressing it has the matrix numbers A-1 and B-1 in the runout grooves. The sleeve is in excellent condition for its age. There is hardly any wear or marks anywhere. However, there are a couple of corner creases one of which can be seen in photo 2 and there is a green dot sicker on the rear of the sleeve although this should come off easily. The spine is sharp, clear and fully readable. Please study all the photos carefully to see the condition for yourself. The labels are in excellent condition but there are quite a few 'spindle trails' showing that the record has been played quite often. The record surfaces are excellent with only a few surface marks from being taken out of the sleeve. Both sides play really well with occasional light surface noise and occasional 'pops'. But definitely no deep scratches, 'sticks' or 'jumps'. I honestly think that you would be hard-pressed to find a better example of this album. The album will be wrapped in bubblewrap before posting to ensure that it does not get damaged on its journey. I will dispatch it in a proper record mailer and will post within one working day of purchase by Second Class post so that it gets on its way to you as soon as possible.
