LAMINATED FLIPBACK COVER IN EX shape.
VINYL is NEAR MINT!
Trippy and still vastly underrated Dutch freakbeat psych mind-blower that, at its best, recalls the big British giants of the day - SF Sorrow, July, Tomorrow - as on the brilliant chunky freakbeat Rubble sounds of "I'm Tired Again" with its whirligig Hammond and trippy processed vocals, kinda sounds like an outtake from the End's INTROSPECTION album. Also check out "Tiny Little Bee," a trippy breathy popsike floater that suddenly erupts into big Carnaby Street day-glo choruses and echoed out titanic drum rolls. This one probably gets snubbed by many because the album title - HAIR - makes it sound like yet another band tackling the entire Broadway musical soundtrack. But Zen actually only cover two of HAIR's songs - "Aquarius" and the title track, which they fuzzify quite nicely! The rest are band originals, and damned great ones at that. I'm not sure why they decided to go for the creepy Sergeant Pepper in Silent Hill mannequin cover shot, but hey, I'm sure at the time it seemed trippy. Now it just seems like BLADE RUNNER on bad acid.
